Cheers to Motherhood!
Because why not! Mothers freakin rock and we should celebrate them every day of the year! But just in case reality gets in the way of your daily celebration, I’ve put together this sweet and simple dessert table for a Mother’s Day Brunch or Baby Shower to celebrate with a POP!
So dust off those glasses and get ready to toast all those wonderful moms out there, yourself included. Iv’e put a motherly spin on the classic mimosa, rounded up some wonderful treats, raised an inexpensive dessert table DIY floral backdrop (with fresh flowers) and of course added in some FREE Momosa Bar printables for a well rounded celebration.
Plus, you’ll find my next #YesChefFavorites included throughout the dessert table, along with some past favorites. New here, and not sure what I’m talking about? Well, every three weeks I make my way down to my favorite kitchen store in downtown Abbotsford called Yes Chef and pick out my top items to share with you all.

Hello, Mum a Sophisticated + Fun Mother’s Day Brunch or Baby Shower Idea
A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of creating a spectacular Mother’s Day workshop titled Hello, Mum. We created one of a kind wall hangings, listened to some amazing live music and then enjoyed the special dessert table filled with treats inspired by a Mother’s Day Brunch.
It really was so simple to create, and an easy set up that could be recreated for any Baby Shower Idea or Fun Mother’s Day Brunch. I kept it unique and fresh by incorporating the Hello, Mum theme sprinkled through out the dessert table. In fact, we used dear old “mum” in place of the Momosa Bar to get MUMosa Bar. So cute, right?!
You’ll see in my FREE Momosa Bar Printables set exactly what I mean. Your next Mother’s Day Brunch and Baby Shower is going to look so cute with my Hello, Mum Art Print, Momosa Bar Flavor Labels, Momosa Bar Welcome Sign and Hello, Mum Cupcake or Beverage Picks.
Now how do you go about recreating this dessert table? With these easy steps of course!
Step by Step Guide To A Sophisticated Dessert Table
Create your own FREE DIY floral backdrop. Yup, I said it FREE! Well, besides the cost of fishing line or string. But I’m assuming most households already have that sooo…. yes FREE.
(note: I used my copper backdrop stand for this free DIY floral backdrop, but any removable command hooks or nails would work just fine)
How is this free DIY floral backdrop possible?! Well, I scavenged for these beautiful blooms, taking full advantage to our beautiful PNW spring. When things are in bloom there really is no reason to spend money on flowers. Not only does it give your FREE DIY floral backdrop a naturally romantic feel, but it makes it so much more personal. I used rhododendron blooms, lilac and shrubbery to create this floral backdrop.
All you have to do to recreate this cascading effect is to string the blooms together with a needle and fishing line or string. It’s that easy. For the corners I just bundled the blooms together and wrapped them in fishing line to attach to my frame.

Fill the table with different levels of platters. This keeps the guests eyes moving to all areas of your dessert table so they wont miss a thing! And if your local make sure to check out my #YesChefFavorites past and present items I used on this dessert table. Some past items I reused for this display was the Gold Creative Co-Op Spoons, the Faux Marble Platter and the Linen Table Runner.
New items that I just adore are the two white and Classic Platters, the tall Glass Covered Dessert Stand and the queen of the table-a stunning Wooden Cake Platter that I placed front and center.
Why do I love these kitchen items from Yes Chef so much? Well, they are classic and I’m going to be able to use them at any special event in the future. Think of them as the LBD’s of the dessert table.
Fill your newly found platters from Yes Chef with delicious food! Keeping it Mother’s Day Brunch friendly as well as Baby Shower Idea approved, I choose easy to eat foods that were also delicious.
Using a semi-homemade process I combined store bought goodies with homemade. In fact! These stunning meringues and hard candies are also part of this week’s #YesChefFavorites! I love that I can head to Yes Chef for amazing kitchen finds and treats!
I also love to bring out repeat crowd favorites. Including my Angel Flake Biscuits and DIY Pineapple Flowers. Perfect for a Mother’s Day Brunch, Baby Shower or Birthday Party. And both easy to whip up.
