It’s Time to be Present & Slow the Roll
I’ve noticed I’m quite the storyteller when it comes to writing these posts. I think it’s the fact that I really do enjoy spilling my heart here. But man, am I feeling drained. It’s the holiday season (another favorite time of year for me), but I feel like its just wizzing by.
I had this same feeling last year, and honestly thought I’d do better this year. But unfortunately, I’m still feeling the rush to get everything done. When all I really want to do it sit. Have a slow day sipping hot coco. Eat delicious sugar cookies. And share the joy of watching my favorite claymation holiday cinemas with my kids.
So in an effort to get to that point of taking in all of what Christmas time has to offer. I’m going to make this post short and sweet, because isn’t that what we all want? More time with our loved ones?
Now let me share with you a thoughtful homemade gift that truly show’s how much you love someone with lots of holiday sweetness with my take on a Christmas Cookie Box Gift Set.
Christmas Cookie Box Gift Set Inspiration
These past few months have been such a blessing to work with Yes Chef, THE BEST KITCHEN STORE IN THE LOWER MAINLAND!
So for this month’s #YesChefFavorites, I decided to dust off one of my favorite cookie recipes of all time, my aunt’s No Fail Sugar Cookies. A tried and true holiday favorite, these delicious Christmas cookies definitely spread the holiday cheer. And to turn them into a thoughtful homemade gift, I took inspiration from the talented Monica Hibbs. Her Cookie Box with Spiced Sugar Cookies looked so beautiful, I just had to try it myself!
And you guys…. I can’t believe how good this thoughtful homemade gift turned out!
Sugar cookies in a box? Yes, please! Seriously, who would turn down such an amazing and thoughtful homemade gift. Definitely not me!
Delicious Christmas Cookies + The Most Useful Decorating Tool
First things first, decorating those No Fail Sugar Cookies.
Who likes getting there hands sticky from royal icing? Ya, me neither. So when I saw this reusable icing decorating tool from Yes Chef, I just about had a holly jolly dance in the store.
With it’s silicone base and interchangeable tips, it literally sucks up your icing into an easy decorating tool. This handy gadget will be your number one friend for all your delicious Christmas cookies! Not only does it come with two decorating tips (one is cleverly stored in the handle), but I even tried switching them out with my Wilson’s tips. Perfect fit!
Tip: When using this tool, suck up the icing slowly and getting push back out any unwanted air.
A Thoughtful Homemade Gift That’s Delicious and Fun
One of my favorite things about this Christmas Cookie Box Gift Set, is that you gift your decorated cookies, as well as a few blank ones as well! So your thoughtful homemade gift is not only delicious, but fun! I packed a little pouch of leftover icing, as well as my favorite sprinkle mix into this cute olive wood bowl and spoon combo from Yes Chef.
The Sophie Conran Ceramic Bowl and Linen Napkin from Yes Chef were also a beautiful touch. Now your holiday recipient will hopefully invite you over for some yummy dinners as a thank you!
It Just Keeps Giving: Christmas Cookie Box Gift Set
And that’s not all! To show my loved ones truly how much they mean to me, I even nestled in a homemade ornament and this simple DIY Spiced Rum Hot Chocolate Gift by my friend Julie Christine.
I felt like each of these special items all deserved a place in my Christmas Cookie Box Gift Box Set. And now, I must say it’s time to wrap it up. I hope this thoughtful homemade gift gave you some inspiration this holiday season.
I think this might just become another holiday tradition for us. I know I keep saying that, but I truly love gifting, and come on…. this Christmas Cookie Box Gift Set is pure magic.
