Chalie Howes, A Creative Blogger & Artist
At this moment, I have my youngest on my lap, two screaming children running around getting into who knows what, a cold dinner on the table, yoga pants that are a wee bit tight, makeup that is now smudged and running down my face after an entire day of cleaning…oh right, its not clean anymore because the childen have destroyed everything…. I’m sure some of you were able to get a laugh out of how relatable this situation is. It’s the life of a mother, and just the “front cover” of who I am, and what I’m all about. So for the people who want to go further that the cover, here’s a little bit more about me…
I like to consider myself a southern belle. I am from the south… and I think I can be defined as graceful. By no means am I Grace Kelly, but I do manage to keep my feet under me. Plain ole’ iced tea with a side of fried chicken and corn bread, and the sound of june bugs in the summer are my preferences. I’d like to say I still use “y’all” on a daily basis, but I find the longer I live in the great white north (Lower Mainland of BC), the more they become just memories. I am all about hospitality, and will send a thank you card for saying thank you. Ok, not really, but thank you cards are always a must in my book. I do like a clean house, but the struggle between expectation and reality has been a battle in my head many times. And, one day I dream of raising my family with the same southern traditions I grew up with, and a few pecan trees to line the driveway… Oh, one can dream.
Really, I’m just a thankful housewife who’s in love with her God, her husband, and her three precious children, all the while trying to balance a home and her passions.
Currently this creative blogger is focusing on exploring motherhood through the unrestrained creativity of childhood.
